On July 14th, the Kayong Utara Regency in West Kalimantan, Indonesia experienced heavy rainfall, causing severe flooding and landslides throughout the region. The community was hit hard, suffering damage to homes, places of worship, and offices.
This event also hit close to home – our Bentangor Environmental Education Center and the surrounding land has been damaged; our Sustainable Livelihood organic farming and aquaculture groups lost products due to damaged crops, dead fish, and washed away seedlings. Most tragically, a long-term member of our staff has lost his wife and daughter who were swept away in flash floods.
Please consider making a charitable, tax-deductible donation to our recovery fund in order to rebuild damaged property and support the family who has lost their loved ones.
